Biography

David Wells earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1983. He has over 33 years of experience as a design engineer, developing parts and integrated systems for a variety of platforms, including supersonic military fighter aircraft, commercial / military helicopters, and commercial / residential building products. He is a registered P.E. in the state of Texas, earning his certification (License #89518) in 2002. He has been awarded 6 U.S. Patents (6,065,525 6,155,327 6,527,035 6,729,380 6,745,814 6,776,210).

His experience covers all phases of new product design, including conceptual design, system integration, detail definition, testing, trouble shooting, and full production implementation. His designs have utilized metals, plastics, and co-cured composites. He has extensive experience designing items to be manufactured as machined parts, castings, forgings, sheet metal, and additive material parts (3D printing).

He has been creating 3D CAD solid models as part of his design development process for over 30 years, using CATIA, Pro Engineer, Solidworks, Unigraphics, and Alibre Design.
